Renovations Unveiled at Open House During Waldo Days
On September 20, 2008, Kansas City Veterinary Care (formerly Hecker Animal Clinic) will host an Open House from 12 noon to 4 p.m. The Open House will take place in Kansas City Veterinary Care’s newly renovated clinic at 7240 Wornall Road.
The Open House will feature:The building that houses Kansas City Veterinary Care has recently undergone an extensive remodeling, from top to bottom, inside and out.
In addition to significant structural improvements, the clinic now has an added entrance, improved circulation, an enlarged waiting area, four additional examination rooms, a consultation room and many other amenities. The beautifully renovated lobby is flooded in light from new, larger windows.
In addition, the building’s two marvelous porches – a signature element of the clinic – have been rebuilt in the Arts and Crafts architectural style, a style found in many of the historic houses throughout the neighborhood.
These improvements were completed both to enrich the experience of clients and their pets, and to enhance the ability of the doctors and staff to provide the high level of care that has been a hallmark of the clinic since its founding in 1984.

On September 20, 2008, Hecker Animal Clinic will change its name and become Kansas City Veterinary Care.
Kansas City, MO - August, 21, 2008 - Founded by Dr. Dan Hecker in 1984, Hecker Animal Clinic has been a fixture at 73nd Street and Wornall Road in Waldo, serving the veterinary needs of clients and their pets in south Kansas City and throughout the metropolitan area for twenty-four years.
The clinic has continued it's tradition of dedicated, top-quality pet care since Dr. Hecker transitioned into a separate single doctor practice in 2004.
"Really, very little is changing but the name," said Dr. Ward Brown, one of the clinic's five veterinarians. "Kansas City Veterinary Care will have the same ownership and management as it has had for the past four years. And, of course, it will have the same wonderful, dedicated pet-care team: the same great doctors, technicians and support staff."
While the ownership and staff of Kansas City Veterinary Care is the same, clients and neighbors will notice that the clinic's building, at 7240 Wornall Road, has completed an ambitious, four-year renovation. In addition to significant structural improvements, the clinic now has an added entrance, an enlarged waiting area, improved traffic flow, four additional examination rooms, a consultation room and many other amenities.
The official name change coincides with the 16th Annual Waldo Fall Festival, taking place September 20 in the CVS parking lot at 75th Street and Wornall Road. Kansas City Veterinary Care will host an Open House that same day, to show off it's newly renovated clinic.
