Sarah Kirkwood, DVM
Dr. Sarah Kirkwood has always had a passion for animals, and at a young age knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. She grew up in the Kansas City area, attending Shawnee Mission East High School. During high school she worked at a veterinary clinic in the area and grew her love for veterinary medicine. Following high school she attended Kansas State University where she studied Animal Science. Over the summers, she worked at Kansas City Veterinary Care as a veterinary assistant. After earning her Bachelors in Animal Science she pursued veterinary medicine at Kansas State and graduated with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2016.
Dr. Kirkwood enjoys all the different aspects of veterinary medicine. She enjoys working with all kinds of animals, including exotics. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Kansas Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA), and the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA).
Dr. Kirkwood has a Lab/Setter mix named Roo, who is her baby. In her free time Dr. Kirkwood enjoys taking her dog to the dog park, playing soccer and going to Colorado.
